Olivia, remembering her brother Nick

Olivia B: Artist Statement

My painting has a few meanings... it represents me and Nick as always intertwined. He will always be my brother and I will always be his sister. Death cannot change that. His spirit is always moving around me, surrounding me, but it makes me sad that we can't fully connect anymore. The movement also represents musical waves. Nick was so talented musically. He taught himself how to play many different instruments. And I chose a golden yellow background because it is such a happy color and reminds me of his playful personality. I did an abstract painting because Nick was so unique. How I wish I could hug my brother again.
